Asking expansive questions can be connective and engaging.

This project grew out of a desire to create an opportunity for community connection and engagement.

Each month, during the community supper series in Putney Vermont in 2023, a different question was posed on brightly colored postcards.

Answers could, and often did, take the form of poems, drawings, song titles, collaborations with others…or straight-forward answers.

Outreach and creative engagement also took place over the summer at the farmers’ market, the community block party and the Bandwagon summer concert series

In this way, we were able to listen to one another, share our thoughts and dreams and strengthen the fabric of our community through these acts.

Answers to the monthly questions were archived for 1 year on a website. Nine individual artists’ books were created and displayed at the Community Supper in February of 2024. This supper was also hosted by The Listening Project and included support from many community members and local farms and food producers.
